María Brandán Aráoz was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a writer, teacher, journalist, scriptwriter of TV theatre, films and cartoons. She writes books for children, teenagers and young adults. She was rewarded twice by the Faja de Honor (Honor Band) granted by SADE (Sociedad Argentina de Escritores) –Argentine Society of Writers- for her novels, and Mention of Honor Award granted by Ministerio de Educación  and Universidad de Tucumán –Education Minister and University of Tucumán- in 1999.

She’s a full member of the Society of Children’s Books Writers and Illustrators and Assistant Regional Adviser of Chapter Argentina. She published short stories and articles for Children in the Children’s Supplement of La Nación (newspaper) and in the children’s magazines Billiken, Jardincito and Enseñar of Clarin Group. Her books are read in public and private Schools bilingual all over Argentina
